Dielectric Measurement

Measuring of dielectric properties is very important for industrial material processing using microwave. The dielectric measurement could be done by some techniques such as coaxial probe and waveguide-based. The idea is to measure scattering parameter of the material in microwave frequency. calculation of permittivity and permeability of the material could be done using the measured scattering parameter.

Using Vector Network Analyzer, the measurement of transmission and reflection voltage is very simple. Different materials have different S11 and S21. The measured parameters could be used simply to calculate the dielectric properties of the material. Different material will give different scattering parameters results.

It is just introduction to dielectric measurement technique. The detail technique and result is published in many conferences and journals. Sorry for not publishing the detail technique and results.
